MEET STEVE

In the Assembly, Steve worked with Democrats and Republicans to make our communities safer and keep our water clean. He'll continue to deliver for our district in the County Legislature. 


Steve Englebright has worked to improve our quality of life on Long Island for over thirty years. In the General Assembly, Steve worked with Republicans and Democrats to fund law enforcement, cut taxes for the middle class, and protect our air and water.


As our Assemblyman, Steve looked out for Long Island by:


Holding the line on taxes and fighting inflation - Steve led the fight for the gas tax holiday, held down property taxes, and cut taxes for the middle class.


Protecting our water - Steve sponsored a constitutional amendment to create a right to clean air and water, kept cancer-causing chemicals out of our drinking water, and secured $3.7 million for a National Cancer Institute.


Supporting law enforcement to keep our communities safe - Steve demanded tougher reforms to the bail law, kept guns out of the hands of dangerous individuals, and supported $500 million additional funds for law enforcement.
